A Christmas flutter
at the Casino Royale

Welcom Software staff were in 007 heaven at this year’s Christmas party. With James Bond and Casino Royale fever currently gripping the nation, the leading Harrogate-based business software specialist decided to give the staff a gambling good time. The themed party in aid of The Multiple Sclerosis Society was a true 007 James Bond show-stopping event.

A £10 charity donation bought staff enough fake money to outwit colleagues amidst the gamblers’ paradise of roulette wheels, blackjack tables and a wheel of fortune. Welcom Software managed to raise a massive £1580 not just from its staff’s bad gambling habits, but also by raffling generous donations from local businesses across the region including vouchers and gifts from Toni and Guy, Wild Orchid, Up and Running, Boneshakers, Time Machine, Indulge Deli and Enterprise Rent-a-car.

Nigel Welch, Welcom Software’s Chief Executive Officer says: “We wanted to celebrate in style after an excellent year for our company. Our staff are key to our success and the chosen charity is important to everyone at Welcom, after a valued employee was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I would like to thank all those who contributed in so many ways.”

Matthew Trainer, communications manager at The Multiple Sclerosis Charity says: “We’d like to say a big thank you to the staff at Welcom Software.  Local businesses make an important contribution to their communities, while motivating their staff at the same time.”
